As you give us all the necessary information online when you buy your tickets before the event, you won’t need to check in on the morning of this year’s run. However, if you have any medical conditions we should know about, or if you’d like you or a child to have an emergency phone number around their wrist, please ask for a wristband when you arrive and write this information on it. Last-minute tickets will be available on the day, but please try to buy them in advance – it makes things much quicker and easier on the day.
Yes – absolutely! We have a dedicated JustGiving charity page set up – please use this link and send it to friends and family who would like to sponsor you HERE
We will have card machines but will also take cash – please bring change if you can.
There is limited parking at the village hall, please consider walking, cycling or lift-sharing to get here. After 9.30am there will be no vehicular access to the village hall as the road will be closed in preparation for the run. The Coppleridge Inn has plenty of parking and have kindly said they are happy for participants to use their car park. There is also a small car park near Motcombe Meadows. Please be sensible about parking and avoid parking on the run route!
Yes! There will be a fun warm-up at 9.45am with Motcombe Primary School before the race starts at 10am. Guaranteed to get you in the mood to move, it will also help prevent injuries from cold muscles!
The event may be cancelled if bad weather makes it unsafe. A decision will be made on the day and announced on the website and on social media. We regret that there can be no refunds. In the case of cancellation, we will aim the reschedule the event. We are hoping for a beautiful December morning for the run… however, we all know the British weather can be unpredictable, so please dress appropriately.
In the event of cancellation, the decision will be announced on the website and on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
We would prefer all participants to go online and register in advance as it will make our lives much easier! It will also allow us to keep you informed of any last-minute changes. But we will be selling tickets on the day.
Although the roads will be closed to traffic, there may still be some vehicles parked on the road, so please take care. There will be race marshals along the route to ensure you don’t get lost! We are operating a rolling road closure (i.e. the road closure moves with the runners) to minimise disruption, but if you think you will finish near the front and need to get away promptly, please park outside of the road closure area. Finishing times will vary, so it’s difficult to predict when the roads affected will fully re-open, although we expect it to be about 11am.
There are no timing chips or fancy stop clocks, but please feel free to document your own time so you can try and beat it next year!
There will be plenty to keep you entertained: make sure you look out for our speedy Santa, Jojo the “reindeer” and a re-Fuelling station at the half-way point.
Most definitely yes! There will be doughnuts for sale as well as tea & coffee from the Really Tiny Coffee Company, mince pies and mulled wine at the Motcombe Memorial Hall. All the proceeds will go to Motcombe Primary School. Please bring your own reusable water bottles so we can minimise plastic waste.
We are just offering one 3km loop this year to keep things simple and fun. If you’re keen for a longer distance in future years, please do let us know – your feedback is appreciated.
We have offered free Santa hats in previous years and we hope that many of our participants have kept these so that they can be reused. We want to look after our environment and reduce plastic waste so are encouraging runners to make festive costumes from what they have at home already. We will have Santa hats on sale for those who really need a bit of added Christmas cheer.
Please see the Safe Santa Page here
There are toilets at the Motcombe Memorial Hall but there are no toilets along the 3km route.
Please come prepared with a refillable water bottle to avoid plastic waste. There is drinking water available at the Hall.
